Medical tourism provides medical treatment package like spinal decompression surgery in India for surgical as well as non – surgical healthcare to International patients combined with recuperative holidays. Skyrocketing health care expenses has become an issue of concern world over and people find themselves constrained to make compromises to their personal health. MEDICAL TOURISM – MEDICAL TREATMENT ABROAD is the answer!!! People are seeking alternatives and now find more affordable healthcare options overseas with savings unimaginable. State-of-art internationally accredited health care facilities, very experienced physicians, exceptional surgical services at a fraction of the cost. Medical tourism is broadly defined as ‘Cost-Effective’ private medical care in collaboration with the tourism industry for overseas patients needing specialized treatment. Medical institutions are providing for an estimated 20,000 to 30,000 doctors and nurses each year complimented with medical facilities driven by advanced technology and high-quality procedures like spinal decompression surgery in India at par with hospitals in developed nations such as US or EU and at a price that could be a fraction of what you would spend in your country.

What is spinal decompression surgery?

Decompression is a surgical procedure that is performed to alleviate pain caused by pinched nerves (neural impingement). In this type of back surgery, a small portion of the bone over the nerve root and/or disc material from under the nerve root is removed to give the nerve root more space and provide a better healing environment. Several conditions may cause neural impingement, including spinal stenosis, a disc herniation, isthmic spondylolisthesis, degenerative spondylolisthesis, or (rarely) a spinal tumor.

Symptoms of spinal decompression include:

Pain

Numbness

Tingling

Weakness

Unsteadiness

In severe cases, pressure on the spinal nerves can cause paralysis and problems with bladder and/or bowel function.

With globalization increased number of people are traveling to another countries to get treated abroad, here quality is the primary factor however cost involved in obtaining quality health care attention that could be surgical or non-surgical procedures is another most important determining factor. Constraints such as high costs and long waiting lists for treatment or surgery have prompted people to look at effective options. Developing countries, significantly India is turning out to be a favorite health treatment destination among people in developed countries like US, UK, etc. as India offers high quality treatment at fractional costs with minimal waiting period. Healthcare and tourism may seem contradictory but people have been traveling to distant lands for rejuvenation packages. The effort now is to institutionalize and re-route patients to hospitals for medical treatment for all kind of healthcare areas to the extent of super specialty fields like spinal decompression surgery in India in the medical science.

According to the Mayo Clinic four out of five people in the United States will experience low back pain at least once during their lives.Back pain is a very common complaint. It is said that back pain is the most common reason why people miss work or consult a doctor. There is a bright side. Most back pain can be prevented and in treating back pain surgery is usually the last option and seldom needed. For instance, spinal decompression therapy is an effective, safe and non-surgical way to alleviate chronic low back and neck pain.Causes of back painThere are several things that can develop that cause back pain to occur or reoccur. If you get to know a little bit more about your back, its components and how they function it may be easier to help determine what’s causing your particular back pain. Once you learn the underlying cause of your back pain then you will be in a position to take the best course of action on a treatment plan that’s best for you.Muscle spasms can be one cause of severe back pain but most often back pain is a result of strained muscles and ligaments. Improper or heavy lifting or sudden awkward movements are among the most frequent causes.Understanding discs, sciatica and stenosisThe discs in your back serve as cushioning between the verterbrae in your spine. Even though some people who have bulging herniated discs suffer no pain whatsoever there are times when the soft matter within a disc may burst and push on a nerve. This is usually painful and causes lingering pain.Sciatica pain results from irritation of the sciatic nerve. The irritation is caused by several factors including infection or injury. The sciatic nerve is the largest nerve in our body and it starts at the nerve roots in the lumbar spinal cord in the low back. When the sciatic nerve has inflammation or has been irritated it produces symptoms of sciatica. But sciatica is most commonly a result of a bulging or herniated disk pressing directly on the nerve. Symptoms of sciatica include numbness, tingling sensation and intense sharp shooting pain traveling down from the lower back area and through the back of the thigh to the back of the leg.The joints most commonly affected by osteoarthritis also known as degenerative joint disease are hips, hands, knees and the lower back. In some cases arthritis in the spine can result to a congestion of the space around the spinal cord, a condition called spinal stenosis. This congestion can have an effect on one or more areas of the spine and put pressure on the spinal cord or on the nerves that extend out from the congested areas.Spinal stenosis symptoms include pain, cramping or numbness in legs, back, neck, shoulders or arms along with frequent loss of sensation in extremities and several occurrence of problems with bladder or bowel functions. Spinal stenosis is most commonly caused by osteoarthritis-related bone damage. Mild symptoms of spinal stenosis are often aided by pain relievers, physical therapy or a supportive brace.Spinal decompression therapySpinal decompression therapy is a slow and therapeutic elongation of the spine which alleviates pressure on compressed vertebrae and discs. During decompression therapy the patient lies immobilized and relaxed on the spinal decompression table while the device applies decompression forces to the injured areas. When required, it is equipped with a safety switch that enables the patient to immediately stop the decompression forces.Check with your doctor to find out if spinal decompression therapy is right for you.

Severe back and neck pain is a debilitating condition faced by people worldwide, and these problems if left untreated, can cause permanent loss of functioning in regions associated with the neck and the back. Although traditional techniques exist, new treatment methods have been developed which are faster and more effective. One such new treatment procedure for treating back pain is the non-surgical spinal decompression technique.

Spinal decompression is a safe, drug-free and painless treatment for treating back pain. The treatment works on the principle that a linear force applied to the body can create a negative pressure between the vertebrae. This pressure can push back a misaligned disc into its proper place, thus maintaining the alignment which increases the normal circulation of oxygen, water and nutritional liquids into the area. Earlier treatment procedures required the patient to take harmful drugs and sometimes even undergo surgeries.

One associated technology is the Decompression Therapy System (DTS) and all decompression techniques require the patient to lie on his/her back on the decompression table with padded straps around the chest and waist. The treatment is comfortable for patients and all equipments used are FDA certified. Spinal decompression techniques have been found successful in treating physical ailments such as bulging or herniated discs, facet syndrome, sciatica, spinal arthritis, spinal stenosis, degenerative joint disease, chronic back pain and post-surgical low back pain.

Decompression technique is an effective solution for common difficulties associated with the back pain arising from damages to the vertebrae, which often cause the gelatinous material inside to flow out. The technique also reduces the strain on muscles, wrenching of ligaments and reduces the pain of arms and legs.

With more and more patients receiving decompression treatment, the credibility of this technique is increasing rapidly. The treatment is producing better results, while the cost is effective compared to other available treatments.

Spinal Decompression Is The Ultimate Back Pain Reliever Today, there’s new hope for sufferers of chronic neck and back pain due to sciatica, herniated or bulging discs, and degenerative disc disease. A recently developed procedure, Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression, offers patients a chance of resuming a normal life, without medications or surgery . Since back injury with resulting back pain is the leading Workmen’s Comp injury and the main reason for disability in people under 45, news of a new treatment is indeed consoling. Common causes of pain include injuries sustained from car accident, fall or trauma relative form. Back or neck pain strikes more casualties since it could be the result of long time iterative stress arising from occupation, improper spinal posture, aging and fast deterioration of spinal condition. The cervical spine of the neck and the lumbar spine of the lower back are most commonly injured. The Culprits Behind Back Pain The best way to understand Spinal Decompression as a pain reliever is to understand the triggering factors of pain. The spinal column is composed of 25 vertebrae and between each are intervertebral discs which act as shock absorbing shields, and allowing the spine to bend, twist and turn. Healthy discs refer to tough cartilage pads with thick and flexible features containing an inner jelly-like component. Discs compress when pressure is put upon them and are similar to a sponge; when you squeeze it, the water is forced out of the sponge. When the pressure is removed, the sponge ‘sucks the water’ back into it.The procedure starts with the compression and bulging out of the jelly-like material within the disk causing pressure on a spinal nerve which interferes with normal blood circulation. If ruptures or tears take place, this can lead to a herniated disc often known as a ‘slipped disc’, ruptured disc or ‘blown out disc’. As it is deprived of nutrients and oxygen over time, the unhealthy disc flattens, and becomes stiff and solid similar to the case of a dry sponge which can lead to degenerative disc disease. Disc pressure on the spinal nerve causes back or leg pain, possibly numbness and tingling called Sciatica. This excruciating pain which can also affect the thigh to the lower leg and foot can surface unexpectedly. Often referred to as a ‘pinched nerve’, the pain can be acute, prolonged and debilitating, often with muscle weakness. Cervical spine injuries cause much the same symptoms only numbness and tingling occur in the arms and hands. Ultimately, these disorders result in severe, nagging chronic low back or neck pain. Theoretical Aspects of Spinal Decompression Therapy Standard treatments include physical/chiropractic therapy, epidural injections, (an injection into the epidural space of the spinal cord), treatment with NSAIDs,(non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). If the outcome is not successful, surgery option is resorted to. Based on statistical information, back surgery is the second most popular ailment which warrants surgical procedure. Results are not always spectacular and some patients have even more post-surgical difficulties. Spinal Decompression Therapy is machine based that makes use of FDA compliant medical technology to undertake the gentle stretching of the spine, gradually reducing the pressure on the affected discs by slowly drawing the vertebrae apart. disc decompression yields a negative pressure causing a vacuum effect, reducing the size of the herniation. Similar to the way a dry sponge sucks up water, the jelly-like substance is drawn back into the disc, decreasing pressure on the nerve root and relieving pain and numbness. Nutrients are drawn into the disc, helping it heal and return to its normal size. The vertebral height is increased to allow more space for the disc as compression is relieved. During a treatment, the patient wears a harness which is fitted around his pelvis and chest. He lies on a special table, operated by a computerized program specifically developed to treat his spinal disorder. The duration for each treatment is around 20 to 45 minutes and most patients report no discomfort; while many find their symptoms decreasing after only a few sessions. The average length of treatment is 5 days a week for 4 to 6 weeks. Therapy procedure may also consist of ultrasound treatments, electric stimulation, hot or cold packs to the affected area plus a specific exercise program. Patients are encouraged to take in at least ½ gallon of fluid daily and take in necessary nutritional supplements to fast track the healing process of the injured discs. In terms of insurance coverage, this is on a case to case basis. Certain conditions are contraindications to Non-surgical Spinal Decompression: severe osteoporosis, myelitis, anlylosing spondylitis, fracture, surgical procedures where there are metal implants such as screws or rods, cancer and spinal tumors. For applicable conditions, this treatment is a sigh of relief from chronic and debilitating pain.

Spinal decompression centers are places where patients with degenerative disc disease, herniated discs, protruded disks, foraminal stenosis, sciatica, spinal stenosis, facet syndrome, lower back pain, and post surgical back pain are treated. Spinal decompression is a non-surgical treatment that is painless and free from side effects. Decompression therapy is safe, effective and often affordable.

Before making a diagnosis, the physicians at these centers analyze the patients’ medical history and perform a thorough physical examination. To decide on the appropriate treatment, several tests including orthopedic and neurological examination are performed on the patient. For making a more accurate diagnosis, imaging tests such as X-rays and MRI scans may also be advised. The doctor then determines the treatment plan and the number of sessions required for the patient to get relief from the symptoms of dysfunction. When the therapy concludes, the therapists may advise cardiovascular protocols, neuromuscular protocols, diet therapy, and exercises to improve the mobility, strength and to avoid further injury.

During the spinal decompression process, a distraction force is applied to the spine to remove pressure from the compressed discs and nerves. The negative pressure formed at some point in decompression therapy will cause the herniated areas to retract back to the normal disc space, and allow oxygen and blood to flow into the affected areas. This would speed up the healing process. It has been seen that this treatment is effective in treating the pain associated with the bulging or degeneration of discs. Patients who underwent this treatment have been able to return to their normal lifestyle. Spinal decompression centers will have licensed medical practitioners including spinal decompression therapists, chiropractors, physical therapists, orthopedic surgeons, pain management specialists and neurologists. Most health centers make use of the latest technologies and equipment to provide spinal decompression services. Spinal decompression therapy, when performed safely and with clinical expertise, will highly enhance the treatment results and lead to a more rapid recovery.

Spinal decompression therapy is a non surgical treatment for chronic lower back pain caused by degenerative disc disease, herniated disc or other deformities of the disc. This treatment is also adopted for pain in the neck, arms or legs and involves reducing the load to the spine. Spinal decompression therapy is otherwise called Vertebral Axial Decompression (VAX-D). In the early days, major surgeries were the only relief for chronic lower back pain. Now we can avoid surgeries by making use of spinal decompression therapy. This therapy has an FDA approval for lower back ailments. This treatment is adopted for treatment of conditions such as pain in the lower back, buttocks, and hip with or without numbness in the foot or leg.

Spinal decompression therapy is meant for patients suffering from back pain due to herniated disc for more than four weeks. Those having recurring back pain even after back surgery, which is more than six months old, can also make use of spinal decompression therapy.

Medical researches have supported decompression therapy as recent studies have proved it to be safer and more effective than spinal surgery. Sciatica, spondylosis, degenerative disc disease, herniated discs, soft-tissue spinal stenosis, and facet arthropathy are caused by compression of discs. Spinal decompression therapy offers the best treatment for these conditions.

A bulging or herniated disc can cause excruciating pain in the lower back portion. This can be returned to the normal condition using spinal decompression. Spinal decompression lengthens the bulging disc by placing traction. This activity helps the disc absorb the nutrients required to heal the disc. This is done by producing a negative pressure inside the disc. Thus the pain and discomfort produced by the bulging disc is eliminated.

The cost for spinal decompression therapy is only about 10% that for lumbar surgery, which makes it an economical option. It is ideal therefore to opt for spinal decompression therapy for a more effective and safer treatment involving minimum cost and in minimum time.

Spinal decompression for herniated discs is a modern approach to an ancient back pain treatment modality. Spinal decompression is a non-surgical therapy which demonstrates very good curative results for herniated and degenerated intervertebral discs.

Spinal decompression is a growth sector within the established back pain treatment industry. Many orthopedists, chiropractors and other types of care providers are investing themselves in decompression technology. Spinal decompression offers care givers a chance to break the cycle of symptomatic back pain treatment and provide patients with a hope for a real and lasting cure for verified disc related pain syndromes. Unlike the vast majority of traditional, complementary and alternative disc therapy options, which must be continued long term in order to remain effective, spinal decompression is finite in duration and generally enacts ongoing relief.

There are many spinal decompression systems available with similar technologies vying for market share. The most popular form of modern decompression is surely the DRX9000 unit, manufactured by Axiom Worldwide. The 2 main competitors to the DRX system are the VAX-D, manufactured by Vax-D Medical Technologies, LLC and the AccuSpina System, developed by North American Medical Corp. There are some differences between the systems and the protocols for treatment, but all work on the same general principles to provide pain relief. Other forms of less technological spinal decompression include traditional medical traction, Cox Technic chiropractic and inversion therapy.

Spinal decompression works by gently stretching the spine and creating a vacuum effect in the intervertebral spaces. This helps ease bulging discs back into place, taking pressure off possibly painful herniations. Decompression also aids in taking stress off degenerated discs, helping to restore disc height and diameter in many patients. Spinal decompression also helps to optimize the neuroforaminal openings, fighting off some possible sources of foraminal stenosis. Finally, spinal decompression has shown positive results in treating some cases of facet syndrome and other types of spinal osteoarthritis.

Most patients should exhaust all more economical measures before considering spinal decompression. This treatment is not cheap, but may be partially or totally covered by many major forms of health insurance. Spinal decompression should definitely be a serious thought for patients facing any type of invasive herniated disc surgery. Spinal surgery is a risky proposition and does not enjoy a very good reputation, based on usually poor curative results. Remember, surgery is always still an option if decompression does not relieve your pain…

Spinal decompression generally takes about 1 month to complete. The patient will often have to go to the care facility for treatment almost every day for the duration of the therapy. Most treatment sessions take 30 to 45 minutes and may be supplemented by additional practices, such as TENS, hydrotherapy, ultrasonic heat or massage. Once the treatment is complete, the patient should not have to return for treatment in the future, but some patients may find an occasional touch up may reinforce the permanency of the results.

Spinal decompression is spreading all across the world as a viable noninvasive option for patients with diagnosed disc related pain and some forms of spinal arthritis. The risks are low and the relief is real. Best of all, there are none of the unpleasantries, functional limitations or tissue damage enacted by surgical interventions. To learn more about spinal decompression, contact a qualified decompression care provide near you or talk to your doctor for additional information.

What’s Your Radar System for Getting Spinal Decompression Patients?
The secret is – the marketing “net” method! That’s right. You’re going to throw a net around your highest probability candidates for Spinal Decompression.
How will you do that? We’re going to use local-based target marketing to attack the highest probability candidates surrounding your clinic.
In surveying top doctors, we found overwhelmingly that the best Spinal Decompression candidates lived within driving range of the practice, almost without exception. This was not surprising, since our own research has found that 96% of patients reside within a 3 mile radius of the practice and spinal decompression is no exception!
In fact, we use this to our advantage in our spinal decompression mailer by saying:
“More good news: Dr. Cummings’ office which focuses on Spinal Decompression, is within 5 miles of your home and can get you help immediately…”
Why I Love Neighborhood-Based Marketing…
If we know you have a 96% chance of securing patients within a 3-5 mile radius of your practice, where do you think we should concentrate our marketing? That’s right. Within that 3-5 mile radius, without a doubt.
This tells us that if you want to get spinal decompression patients, the best way to get them is locally. Mass marketing is not the best approach for spinal decompression, in our opinion. Mass marketing is extremely expensive, it is not targeted since it sprays your marketing message wildly all over the map, and simply doesn’t work as well as attacking the “sweet spot” area around a practice.
Put another way, if you know you have a 96% better chance of finding them in the three miles around your practice, why would you make things harder on yourself by penetrating beyond this highest probability zone?
We’ve found the majority of doctors haven’t picked up the gold coins laying at their feet nearest their practice! Pick the low hanging fruit first. It’s the easiest and most profitable.

The minute we suffer unbearable back pain, we have the tendency to jump to a conclusion. Immediately surgery comes to mind – thousands of dollars worth of medical visits, procedures, rehabilitation, medication; is it even possible to afford such an expense? At this point, we begin to panic and come to the conclusion that back pain will be forever. Fortunately, there are alternatives to costly surgery. If you are suffering from back discomfort, you have to respond and address the problem by looking at all options. Since disc related problems are common, this may also hold true in your case thus the need for you to undergo spinal decompression. Whether you are suffering from a herniated disc or even pinched nerves – it could be the treatment solution to your back problem. Spinal decompression treatments are not flash in the pan. It is a popular treatment that is safe, comfortable and most importantly, a lot more affordable than spinal decompression surgery.Offered in hospitals, clinics and even private practices, the treatment takes around three to five times a week for a total of twenty sessions with each lasting around 10-15 minutes. Each session can cost anywhere from $75 to $150.During treatment, you will lay across a table and be harnessed to a computer. This computer sends pressure to your spine, separating the discs so that they begin to reposition and also take in additional oxygen and blood flow that has been lacking. As the discs stretch out, muscle spasms are alleviated and overall pain starts to dissipate. Consequently, the discs slowly begin to heal.We can guess what is in your mind- is this a another hype?. Can spinal decompression therapy serve as a good antidote to excruciating back pain even though no surgery or medication is involved? For the majority of people who are eligible for this treatment, it is feasible. Technology today has made possible the identification of precise areas for treatment to heal the disc. Nevertheless, spinal decompression surgery may still be a necessity. Though before you come to such a conclusion, consult your physician and research spinal decompression treatments. In less than an hour, you too could be enjoying a painless life. Just imagine – a fresh start with all the mobility to perform all things you desire without any inhibitions. Back pain can just be a fleeting experience. Let spinal decompression therapy help you open a new door.

Decompression Therapy, or otherwise known as spinal decompression therapy, is the no-surgery remedy for neck and lower back pain. Normally, pains involving the back are caused by degenerative disc disease, herniated disc, spinal stenosis or other disc deformities. With spinal decompression therapy, the patient avoids surgery and only undergoes several therapy sessions. Most patients attest to instant back pain relief even after the first decompression therapy session. Most Popular Back Pain RemediesAlmost everyone has experienced back pain in one form or another. It was known, that back pain is a close 2nd to headache as the most prevalent neurological malady in the U.S.A.Because of its prevalence, people tried various back pain remedies. Some remedies are found to be effective, other alternatives just make their conditions much worse. Some of the most popular remedies to provide relief to back pain are:1. Acupuncture – treatment is not expensive but most people dread the idea of needles pricking their skin.2. Taking in vitamin D, B12 or magnesium – this remedy is more of preventive in nature. If the person is experiencing extreme lower back pain, this remedy may help in some ways but it will not fully remove the lingering back pain.3. Yoga – this back pain remedy is excellent for people who are still flexible and have the time to do regular sessions spread over 6 months at least. It is not for the sick, the weak people, and the old.4. Massage therapy – undergoing a massage therapy is very relaxing and stress-releasing. But for serious back problems and under untrained therapists, it may aggravate the pain and worsen the condition.5. Surgery – many are frightened to be operated on and it is usually very expensive and, at times, debilitating.6. Spinal decompression therapy – a patient is firmly placed on a secured and comfortable spinal decompression table. The table then gradually adjusts the vertebrae causing the back pain problem. Instant relief is usually experienced by the patient. It is safe, no physical exertion required and worry-free way to remedy back pain problems.Spinal Decompression Is Non-SurgicalTraditionally, people treat back disorders with oral medication, physical therapy, exercises and spinal surgery. With the latest breakthrough in technology and cutting-edge device, spinal decompression is the best alternative that will let you say bye-bye to your back pain and prevent the need for that debilitating surgery.A spinal decompression table program is a non-invasive treatment alternative for most chronic back pain problems and allows patients to return to normal life and be active once more.
